ABOUT: Sarasota Youth Lacrosse (SYL) and Lakewood Ranch Youth Lacrosse (LRYL) is a community-centered youth lacrosse program “little league” or recreation style platform for boys and girls 5 – 14 to learn and fine tune their lacrosse skills during the Spring season. Our aim is to assist lacrosse players who want to learn more about the sport and have fun while playing lacrosse with friends. Our goal is for players to build confidence in their game as they aspire to compete at the highest level. We are excited to be a member of the Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League where our teams have the opportunity to compete against other area rec teams and test the skills they learn during the Spring season. All players will be required to have a current USA Lacrosse membership. All coaches will be background screened.
SPRING SEASON: Practices begin in January. Weekly practices will be held in the evening with scrimmage style practices & games played on Saturday mornings. Season will run through April. **Travel within the SunCoast area is involved for a few rec-style tournaments and those dates will be confirmed prior to season.

*Our league is powered by volunteers – please consider donating your time to work with us to GROW THE GAME!! No experience is necessary to volunteer – we will FULLY support you by hosting train-the-trainer clinics for all coaches, providing age-specific practice plans for your use throughout the season and our goal is to pair you with a local volunteer High School player to serve as an additional “assistant coach.” All you need to make a difference is a great attitude, patience and communication.
